| shocked my hand today unplugging a hair dryer...got to go see the
lovely people down at the Tang Center....who knew electricity hurt so
much, it made my hand all swollen and red  ....the Tang Center people asked me what i'll do differently next time i unplug something:
"uh, not electricute myself"
i think there may have been higher forces at work though. i
decided to take a break from studying, of all things, the nervous
system and took a shower instead. next time i'll just study and
skip the "hands on" demonstration of how the peripheral nervous system
functions....excuse the pun but it was too corny not to include.

| i'm back from being a summer camp counselor. all in all it was a good time. lots of work (except for the last week), lots of crazy kids....but most were nice and i got to meet lots of cool peoples, so i can't complain. so i have a week b4 i need to move back for school. what shall i do with my free time now that i don't have a counselor group to run....hmmm? must buy a couch and finnish testing tennis racquets, then who knows....maybe i'll see some of you, you know, you....out in internet land. tootles | | |
| tried to get fingerprinted for my job forms but i forgot the form. so i sped back home and back to the county office where i arrived 1 minute late....damn....so now i have to go back monday to get fingerprinted (for the second time in 3 months....why can't they just use the set i had done earlier this year? have my prints mysteriously changed?) also, i was never sent my cpr red cross certification card (from either this year or the last b/c my job at school never gave me the card they keep on file and now claim they don't have it)...so now i can't photocopy that to send to my new job either.....grrr!!!! AND, to make matters worse, i was supossed to have all these forms filled out and returned by yesterday....but i didn't recieve them until yesterday b/c the people sent them to my berkeley address (which by the way, i told them not to do in person, over email, and in the phone call i had with them 2 weeks ago.....permanent address...not local...PERMANENT!!!!) and of course on the contracts they printed my social security number wrong, so they'll probably do a background check on the wrong person who turns out to be a convicted felon or something......AHHH!!!!!!! why must beauracracy be so damned annoying? well......i feel a little better now that i've ranted and complained about stuff.....everyone else, i hope you have a lovely day.  | | |
| back home attempting to unpack my room. you never realize how much crap you have until you move it all and later have to find a place for everything to go. my weekend in santa barbara was very nice though, much thanks to gina for letting me crash with her. i also got all of my summer job plans staight, so i'll be working at the summer camp at stanford from june 17- july 12 and at uc berkeley from july 27- august 8....then i'm going to work for cal's new student orientation services starting august 18th...so pretty much i get to move into school 2 weeks early, should be pretty fun.
so my goal this summer is to read a bunch of classic novels i've always wanted to read but never got around to....here's my list so far:
The Picture of Dorian Gray, Sense and Sensibility, Oliver Twist, The Fountainhead, & Anna Karenina....if i get through those maybe i'll add a few more....i was thinking mobey dick or the scarlet letter but everyone tells me those are boring...they are classics though so someone must have liked them. if you have any suggestions i'de love to hear. | | |
| My week of house/kid/dog sitting has come to an end, so it seems like the perfect time to take a road trip! i've decided to go down to so. cal tomorrow thru sunday...i will be making stops at ucsb and ucla. i think my parents are slightly bumbed i'm leaving, i've only been home for 10 hours and i've already got plans to leave...oh wells, they will survive w/o me for another 2 days. Plus this way i wont have to start putting away all my crap from my dorm room until i get back, yeah....i will use any method to delay hours of unpacking. Guess i'll sleep on the couch tonight since my bed is burried 3 feet under piles of stuff. ADIOS till next time, have a good memorial day weekend all! | | |
